Reading Berks School Employees Credit Union was chartered on Jan. 1, 1947. The concept for the Credit Union was thought up in the living room of Walter Brumbach, he was a teacher at Southern Junior High, along with co-founder Henry Monyer, a teacher at Northeast Middle School who later became the Assistant Superintendent. The purpose of
Reading Berks School Employees Credit Union was chartered on Jan. 1, 1947. The concept for the Credit Union was thought up in the living room of Walter Brumbach, he was a teacher at Southern Junior High, along with co-founder Henry Monyer, a teacher at Northeast Middle School who later became the Assistant Superintendent. The purpose of the Credit Union was to service and enable employees of the schools to borrow money at reasonable rates. The Credit Union had its first office with just 2 rooms 53 years ago at the Baer Building in the 500 block Court St. in downtown Reading.
Still headquartered in Reading, PA, it has assets in the amount of $17,573,985. Its 1,401 members are served from their location at 4641 Pottsville Pike, Reading, PA. Deposits in Reading Berks School Employees Credit Union are insured by NCUA
The Reading Berks School Credit Union is organized to serve people who are employed by Berks County School Districts. Our purpose is to provide products and services such as savings accounts and loans that are competitively priced.
Common Bond:
Our common bond is being associated with all of the school districts in Berks County
Tuesday: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Wednesday: 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.
(while school is in session)
Friday: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
